Building Community in Cybersecurity

Giana Whitver’s journey eventually led her to co-found the Cyber Security Marketing Society, a global community for professionals in one of the most complex industries in the world. The idea began with a simple need: a place where cybersecurity marketers could share ideas, trade strategies, and learn from one another. Over time, that idea has grown into a network of more than 4,000 members representing over 1,600 companies worldwide.

The society gives members a chance to ask questions that might otherwise go unanswered, especially for those working in small teams or even as the only marketer at their company. By creating this supportive environment, Giana has helped others navigate the same challenges she once faced. The group hosts events, shares resources, and connects people across the industry, all with the goal of making cybersecurity marketing less intimidating and more effective.

For Giana, this work is about more than just marketing. It is about building confidence and opening doors for others. By leading with empathy and collaboration, she has created a space where professionals feel empowered to succeed. Her vision has transformed what was once an isolating career path into a connected, supportive community that continues to grow every year.
